Please read these Terms carefully before using PageScan. They set out your rights and responsibilities as a user. If you have questions, contact us at hello@pagescan.io.
By creating an account or using PageScan ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you (or the organisation you represent) and Dominic Wordsworth trading as PageScan, based in the United Kingdom.
PageScan is an AI-powered proofreading service that crawls public-facing web pages you specify and uses artificial intelligence to identify spelling and grammar errors.
The Service is provided "as is" and we make no guarantee that every error will be identified, or that identified errors are always accurate. AI-generated suggestions should be reviewed by a human before being applied.
You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must not share your account with others or allow multiple users to access a single account unless you are on a plan that permits this.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
— Scan websites you do not own or have explicit permission to scan
— Use the Service to harvest, scrape, or republish third-party content
— Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or interfere with the Service
— Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation
— Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent
— Submit websites containing illegal, harmful, or abusive content for scanning
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
PageScan offers a free tier and paid subscription plans billed monthly. Paid plans are billed in advance at the start of each billing period.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Prices are shown in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable VAT.
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused time within a billing period, except where required by law.
Money-back promise. If PageScan is not for you, email hello@pagescan.io within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment in full, as long as you have run no more than one scan since paying. You do not need to give a reason. The promise covers the first payment only, and applies once per customer and once per website. If you have run more scans than that, you can still cancel at any time and you will not be charged again. PageScan has no free trial: the free scan lets you see it working before you pay.
Page allowance. Each paid plan includes a number of scans a month, a page limit for each scan, and a monthly allowance of new or changed pages, as shown on our pricing page. A page counts towards the allowance when it is new to us or its text has changed since we last checked it. Pages that have not changed, and pages we re-read only because we changed how PageScan reads websites, do not count. The allowance resets at midnight UTC on the 1st of each calendar month, and unused pages do not carry over. When the allowance runs out, a scan still checks your unchanged pages and tells you which new or changed pages it did not check.
The free tier provides limited scan capacity each month. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time with reasonable notice.
Free tier users may encounter scan limits, page caps, and feature restrictions as described on our pricing page.
All content, code, branding, and design of the PageScan service is owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.
You retain full ownership of your website content and the scan results generated from it. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process your website content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
Scan results, including error identifications and suggested corrections, are generated by artificial intelligence. These suggestions are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional editorial, legal, or other advice.
We make no warranty that AI-generated suggestions are accurate, complete, or suitable for your purposes. You are responsible for reviewing and validating any changes made to your website based on our output.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PageScan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the Service at any time.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features, change pricing (with reasonable notice), or discontinue the Service entirely. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any material changes that affect paid subscribers.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law.
On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
